The Philadelphia based guitarist Sam Kelly does not believe that music can be limited by genre. Starting off his career by performing in several bands in the Philadelphia metal scene, he learned how each group chose to express themselves musically within the confines of one style. Sam eventually moved towards a more diverse sound and founded Big Fat Meanies, where as the songwriter, he could be free to create with an infinite musical palate. Sam has always considered his main work as a songwriter to push the limits of what a song can do or be, exemplified in “The Time Has Come…”, Big Fat Meanies’ debut release. Aside from his work in the band, Sam also works as a sound technician for Clair Global, contributes as a producer and engineer for bands at a regional and national level, and also contributes work as a composer for video. “Music has always been a central part of me“ Sam has said, “It’s just the best way I know how to connect with people.”
